Purpose
The Gold-Plated Maha Mrityunjaya Yantra is a sacred Vedic instrument dedicated to Lord Shiva – the conqueror of death and the supreme healer. It embodies the divine vibrations of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, one of the most powerful mantras revealed in the Rigveda. This yantra is revered for its ability to grant health, longevity, freedom from fear, and protection from untimely death.
Traditionally prescribed in Shiva Upasana, Ayurvedic healing practices, and astrological remedies, the Maha Mrityunjaya Yantra is highly recommended for those suffering from chronic illness, repeated health troubles, unexplained accidents, or anxiety about mortality. It also helps in spiritual upliftment by removing deep-rooted fears and aligning the devotee with Lord Shiva’s divine grace.

How to Place the Yantra
1. Ideal Location:
-
Place the Yantra in the East direction of your puja room, living room, or near the head side of the bed of the ailing person.
-
Alternatively, it can be kept in the Northeast (Ishan corner) of the house or workplace for all-round protection.
-
Avoid placing it in the kitchen, bathroom, or directly on the ground.
2. Correct Orientation:
-
The Yantra should face East (towards the rising Sun) for maximum healing energy.
-
If placed on a wall, the center of the Yantra should be at eye level.
3. Auspicious Days:
-
Best installed on Monday (day of Lord Shiva), Maha Shivaratri, Pradosh Vrat, or during the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon).
-
Installing during an auspicious Rudra Abhishek muhurta increases potency.
4. Purification & Setup:
-
Take a bath and wear clean white or light-colored clothes.
-
Sprinkle the place with Ganga Jal or water mixed with basil leaves.
-
Place the Yantra on a white cloth over a wooden stand or altar.
5. Activation Ritual:
-
Light a ghee lamp and incense sticks.
-
Offer bilva (bael) leaves, white flowers, unbroken rice, sandal paste, and fruits.
-
Chant the Maha Mrityunjaya Yantra Mantra:
Sanskrit: ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात् ॥Transliteration: Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam,
Urvaarukamiva Bandhanaan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritaat. -
Recite the mantra 108 times daily (preferably with a Rudraksha mala) for continuous blessings and healing.
Special Worship
Every Gold-Plated Maha Mrityunjaya Yantra is ritually consecrated (Pran Pratishtha) by Shri Ram Panditji, a traditionally trained Vedic priest, inside a 1500-year-old Shiva temple. The process includes:
-
Purification (Shuddhi) with Vedic mantras, Ganga Jal, and sacred herbs.
-
Rudra Abhishek of the yantra with milk, honey, ghee, curd, sugar, and holy water while chanting Shiva mantras.
-
Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra Japa (special chanting of 11,000 or 21,000 repetitions) for health and longevity.
-
Homa (fire ritual) with ghee, herbs, and mantras to charge the yantra with divine healing vibrations.
-
Ashirvad (Blessing Ceremony) sealing the divine energy into the yantra for lifelong protection and potency.
The sanctified Yantra is then sent to you along with temple Prasad (vibhuti/holy ash, bilva leaves, and sacred thread), carrying Lord Shiva’s blessings of health, protection, and spiritual strength.
